OILY SKIN | Maddie Edwards

Healthy Skin Tip: A good tip that can prevent you from getting acne is to use a brand of sunscreen that has no oils in it. This is especially important if you have oily skin. There are a lot of sunscreens available that are made specifically for people that suffer from acne.
Hey guys!!
I hope you like the first episode of Beauty School Fridays. An oily skin vid was something very highly requested after I posted my skincare routine. This was so much fun for me to film because I freakin’ love talking about skin haha. I understand that a lot of people will find this video super boring though, so thats totally fine. In the video I address the following questions and I will link the times below if you want to skip straight to that subject:

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE OILY SKIN? – 1:07
WHAT ARE PORES AND WHY DO WE HAVE THEM? – 1:46

  1. It’s just past midnight so now it’s Saturday bc I had no time to edit this in time 😭😂
By the way guys, I was thinking of any easyish way to understand pH levels and your skin’s acid mantle. Think of your fanny (if you’ve got one) and how if you’re on antibiotics for something, a lot of us ladies get thrush down there! That’s because the antibiotics wipe out any bacteria, good or bad. So the pH levels are messed up, which causes problems like thrush, or if we’re talking about our face, acne! Hope this makes things a lil easier xx

  2. Maddie you’re seriously so amazing babe. This was amazing – so informative, clearly communicated and you’re so easy and lovely to listen to and learn from. I just know you’re gonna kill this series. I have a little request, if when you do a video on dry/dehydrated skin could you go a little bit into congestion too?! I have the most difficult skin, it’s so weird haha. It’s dry, and sometimes dehydrated but so bloody congested! I would love any info or tips at all that you have to help people with dry skin that still need help with breakouts and stuff! Absolutely loving you and what you’re doing as always hun, you’re my fave 💖💖💖

  3. I love this as a series! How do I choose an eye cream? Why can’t I use my face lotion over my eyes? Serums… is it needed? I already have 6 different products and steps

  4. I have been waiting for a video like this to come out for ages; one that explains what I need to do without plugging specific brands, and being realistic about my means. This was ~extremely~ helpful, and the note at the end about patience is definitely something I needed to hear. My skin was destroyed after using ProActive in my teens (and my skin wasn’t even that bad then!) and I’ve had problem skin ever since. I’ve probably spent thousands of dollars on products that claim to have results, and in a saturated market where beauty gurus shove products down your throats left, right and centre, it’s easy to feel a bit lost for what to use. But now I know what I should look for and why, which is very helpful. Thank you!

I do have a recommendation for another video for winter in Australia: My wardrobe mainly consists of tight fitting jeans and pants and I get extremely dry and flaky skin on my legs. I also get terrible in-grown hairs on my legs over winter, and get too paranoid to dress in shorts, skirts or bathers in the earlier months of summer until it calms down. How can I keep on top of this in winter? I moisturise every day, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

    Thanks, girl! x

  5. Could you please do a video on dry acne prone skin as I feel like people never think you can have for example dry AND ace prone skin so I would lovveee to see a video on that as my skin is really pimpley but products that are made to treat mild acne/pimples tend to be very drying💕💕💕💕love you and your videos heaps

  6. Hey, I have oily skin and can’t get rid of spots towards the lower part of my cheek. Is the dermalogica skin clear range worth trying to help solve this? xx

  7. I use rationale products as they work best for me, but the down side is they are really pricey ugh :/

  8. i love this!!! so nice to hear someone actually EXPLAIN skin care! you should do an episode talking about eczema and ways to treat it. i don’t have it personally, but i have friends that really struggle with it! love love love your videos!

  9. ty for the info 🙂 btw should we use thermal water spray before or after the moisturizer?in my night routine i only use thermal water and then a retinol cream. I do use dermalogica moisturizer and la roche posay pigmentlar eye and avene thermal water ( the cleanser is a bioderma one even doe i think i picked a wrong one , because i have a normal to dry skin )

  10. I have skin cancer on my face and I have to have surgery. The surgeon said my skin will scar. What product do you recommend for scarring? Thank you for your help 🙂 xx
